Work, work, work!
More paperwork, meetings, calls, reports, coworkers… What about you?

We live in such a state of panic—there’s never enough time to get things done, and suddenly we’re wondering, How old am I? Time just passes us by, and we forget to “stop and smell the roses.”

With time, we get achy and stressed and tired and sick. Then the diseases start kicking in, and before you know it, you’ve forgotten what it’s like to actually enjoy the simple things. We allow everything in our path to become a job. And of course, there’s the idea that nobody can do it as well as you can.

Life is meant to be enjoyed—to find peace in each moment and second. We’ll never be able to truly appreciate all that we do until we begin to live in the present.

We need to relearn how to breathe—and stop taking it for granted. Sure, we know we’re breathing (we’re alive, after all), but are we slowly suffocating ourselves by holding everything in?

As I type these words, they may sound a little depressing, but the reality is—this is what happens to most people every day. When we hold our breath, we don’t allow enough oxygen into our systems. Our minds get cluttered, we lose focus, and we just start to hurt.

At the beginning of every year, we vow to take better care of ourselves: work out more, eat healthier... but why wait for the New Year? Every time we close our eyes and reopen them, we have the opportunity to view the world in a different way.

Yoga can teach us many things—but the key is breathing, living, loving, and simply being in the present.

Yoga is the union of mind and body through the art of breathing. If we don’t breathe, we cannot live. It really is that simple.

y Respira, which translates to “& Breathe” in English, offers the art of yoga—the connection of mind, body, and breath—for everybody, regardless of age, shape, size, race, or religion. You don’t have to be "gumpy" (or bendy!) to practice yoga—you just have to be present.

We teach all styles of yoga: from Beginner’s Yoga, to Flow, to Restorative Poses, Power Naps, and Meditation.

Come check us out—your first class is free.
