Cold Dew - Oct 8-22nd

Madrina Claudia Chambers | OCT 6, 2025

Dear Ferns of the Forest,

The season of Cold Dew arrives with crisp air and cooling nights, reminding us that life is asking us to release and simplify. Energy continues to descend and contract, guiding us inward.

In Chinese medicine, this is the height of the Metal element, the energy of refinement and letting go. The ancient character for Metal places the symbol for Earth at its center, surrounded by small flecks of precious minerals, sheltered beneath a roof—an image of treasures buried deep within.

Through the lens of SPINE Philosophy, Cold Dew invites us to:

Space (S): Clear away clutter in body, mind, and environment. Create space for stillness.

Physical Body (P): Choose practices that open the lungs and chest, supporting breath and immunity.

Intention (I): Release distractions; focus only on what nourishes your spirit.

Nature & Nutrition (N): Eat simple, grounding foods—pears, squash, warming spices—to balance the cooling air.

Emotions (E): Let grief and old stories fall away, like leaves from a tree, revealing what is truly precious within.

This season reminds us: when we simplify, we connect more deeply with what matters. By letting go, we uncover our own hidden treasures.
